If volunteers do not attend seminar days for health reasons or due to the coronavirus pandemic, or if the seminars are cancelled for this reason, their absence is considered excused and the seminar days are credited to the volunteers. If there is a realistic possibility, the seminars should be moved to other locations or made up for later (possibly proportionately).
Extended tasks for volunteers in the places of work
According to the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, the following regulations apply with regard to service in the deployment centres (as of 19.03.2020):
If, due to the current situation with regard to the handling of the coronavirus, an extension of the scope of volunteers' work beyond the service agreed upon at the placement site should be considered, this is possible in consultation with us as the provider.
In specific individual cases, the placement site or the executing agency must make an assessment of the risk situation, if necessary in consultation with the local health authorities, and must weigh up the concrete risk potential for the volunteers against the maintenance of official duties in the placement sites. Special attention must be paid to the duty of care towards minors. If the service has to be interrupted or even discontinued, the concrete risk situation existing in the individual case and the impossibility of finding other solutions or possibilities of employment must be documented.

On Friday, September 7, 2018, 70 weltwärts volunteers of the ASC Göttingen von 1846 e.V. were given a very special honor. The Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, Stephan Weil, invited to the reception in the guest house of the state government in Hanover.
The positive atmosphere was palpable when ASC weltwärts volunteers from the 2017/18 and 2018/19 years came together to symbolically hand over the baton for the next round.
